HARRISON TO PILOT ASHCOURT RACING RC45

Rising Manx star Nathan Harrison will ride the Ashcourt Racing Honda RC45 for the 2023 RST Classic Superbike Race, deputising for an injured Lee Johnston.

Johnston, who continues to make a good recovery from the severe injuries sustained at the North West 200 in May, rode the machine for the first time at last year’s event where, despite limited practice, he finished in a fine seventh place in the 4-lap race with a fastest lap at an average speed of 122.866mph.

The Ashcourt Racing team have invested a significant amount of resource into developing the bike further for this year’s event, and Harrison – making a return to racing himself after also sustaining injuries at the North West 200 – will get the honour of riding the iconic V4 which the likes of Joey Dunlop, Phillip McCallen, and Jim Moodie have ridden around the TT Mountain Course.

Winner of both the Junior and Senior Races at the 2019 Manx Grand Prix, the Onchan rider enjoyed a stunning maiden outing in the Classic Superbike Race twelve months ago when he finished second on the Greenall Racing Kawasaki ZX7R, 15-seconds behind team-mate and race winner Rob Hodson.

Harrison also set the fastest lap of the race at 126.326mph and will be aiming to get as close to that as he can to challenge for the podium positions once again.

The 4-lap RST Classic Superbike Race is scheduled to take place at 14:15 on Monday 28th August.
