Cookies

This website uses as few cookies as possible, and none that track you across the web or serve advertising. A cookie is a small text file a website can store in your browser.

Essential cookies

To work at all, the site sets one essential cookie when you use its interactive parts:

  • Session cookie — created when you add something to your basket, sign in to your account, or submit a form (such as the contact form). It holds a random session ID so the site can tell your visit apart from everyone else's, and protects forms against cross-site request forgery. It contains no personal information and expires when you leave the site or sign out.

Analytics

We use Simplestats, a privacy-friendly analytics tool we host ourselves. It is cookieless — it counts page views anonymously to help us understand how the site is used, without storing anything on your device or identifying you. We do not use Google Analytics.

When you pay

When you check out, you are taken to PayPal to make your payment securely. PayPal sets its own cookies on its own website to process the payment and prevent fraud. These are controlled by PayPal — see PayPal's own cookie and privacy policies.

Embedded video

Some pages show videos hosted on YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube does not set cookies for these until you actually press play on a video.

Newsletter

If you sign up to our newsletter, that is handled by Mailchimp. No cookies are set on this website for it.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. For general guidance see aboutcookies.org. Blocking the essential session cookie may stop the basket, sign-in and forms from working.

If you have any questions about the cookies we use, please contact us.

Privacy Policy

Who we are

This website, manxgrandprix.co.uk, is run by the Manx Motor Cycle Club Ltd (MMCC), which is the data controller for the personal information described here. We handle personal data in line with the Isle of Man Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect, and why

When you contact us (contact form, email or phone) we ask only for your name and contact details, plus whatever you choose to put in your message. We use this solely to answer your enquiry. Website enquiries are emailed to the club and handled by the small number of people responsible for running the Manx Grand Prix.

When you create an account we hold your name, email address and a securely encrypted (hashed) password, your newsletter choice, and — once you place an order — your delivery address and order history. This lets you sign in, see your orders, download members' resources and manage your newsletter preference.

When you buy from the shop, your payment is taken securely through PayPal (the Manx Motor Cycle Club receives the payment; PayPal processes it under its own privacy policy). We keep your order details, email and delivery address only to fulfil your order and for our accounting records. Your delivery address is shared solely with Happy Dog Image Solutions, who make up and post your order on our behalf, and with the delivery service that carries your parcel. It is held securely on our own systems and is never sold, never passed to any other organisation, never shown anywhere on this website, and never made available to Manx Motor Cycle Club members.

When you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is stored in Mailchimp. Open sign-ups use double opt-in (you confirm by email first), and you can unsubscribe at any time from any newsletter or your account page.

Analytics: we collect anonymous, cookieless page-view statistics only (see the Cookie Policy). This does not identify you.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Members can delete their own account at any time from the account page: this erases your personal details (name, email, address and newsletter subscription) while keeping an anonymised record of any past orders, which we must retain for accounting and legal reasons.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We use a small number of trusted providers to run the site: PayPal (payments), Mailchimp (newsletter), our email provider and our website host. Order fulfilment may involve sharing a delivery address with our merchandise partner and the courier.

The Manx Grand Prix also has sub-sites on the Isle of Man Government's Live Timing and Press Accreditation services. The MMCC does not collect or process personal information from those sub-sites — they are run by the Department for Enterprise (DfE), who process any information collected there. See the gov.im privacy notice.

Keeping your information

We store personal information securely and keep it only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was given, after which it is deleted.

Shop — Terms & Returns

Ordering

All merchandise is sold by the Manx Motor Cycle Club Ltd, and is designed, produced and distributed by Happy Dog Image Solutions on the Isle of Man. Prices are shown in pounds sterling (£) and include any applicable taxes. Placing an order and completing payment forms a contract of sale.

Payment

Payment is taken securely through PayPal at checkout — you can pay with a PayPal account or a debit/credit card. We never see or store your full card details.

Delivery

Delivery options and prices are shown in your basket before you pay:

  • Collection — free, from an agreed Isle of Man collection point.
  • UK & Isle of Man post and International post — flat-rate charges shown at checkout.

We aim to dispatch orders promptly; you will receive an email with tracking details when your order is sent.

Returns & refunds

If you are not happy with your purchase, you may return unworn, unused items in their original condition within 30 days of receiving them for a refund of the item price. Please contact us first so we can advise where to send the return. Refunds are made to your original payment method once we receive the goods. Return postage is at your own cost unless the item is faulty.

Personalised or made-to-order items cannot be returned unless faulty.

Faulty items

If an item arrives faulty or not as described, please contact us within a reasonable time and we will arrange a replacement or full refund, including any postage you paid.
