Could 2027 Be the Year You Take on the Mountain Course?

The Manx Motor Cycle Club is inviting prospective newcomers to register their interest in competing at the 2027 Manx Grand Prix.

For riders who have ambitions of racing on the world famous 37.73 mile Mountain Course, the Manx Grand Prix provides the opportunity to take that next step and begin the journey towards competing on one of the most challenging and iconic road racing circuits in the world.

Each year, the Manx Grand Prix welcomes newcomers from across the UK, Ireland and further afield, and expressions of interest from overseas competitors are very welcome.

Preparing to race on the Mountain Course is a process that begins well before a rider arrives on the Isle of Man for their first qualifying session. Prospective newcomers are supported through the process, with guidance designed to help them understand the unique demands of the course and the preparation required to compete at the Manx Grand Prix.

The Manx Motor Cycle Club is now beginning that process for 2027 and would like to hear from experienced competitors who are seriously considering making their Manx Grand Prix debut next year.

Prospective newcomers will need to meet the required qualification criteria and should be able to demonstrate good results and experience gained in a high standard of competitive motorcycle racing. Riders considering submitting an Expression of Interest should therefore have an established racing background and be competing regularly at an appropriate level.

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST NOW OPEN

The Expression of Interest process for the 2027 Manx Grand Prix is now open, with prospective newcomers able to complete their details through the dedicated Newcomers section of the Manx Grand Prix website.

As part of the online process, riders will be asked to provide information about their racing experience and recent results, giving the Manx Motor Cycle Club an opportunity to assess their experience and suitability for progressing through the newcomer process.

Applicants will need to provide official results from at least six race meetings from the last calendar year, together with details of their racing history and experience.

Once an Expression of Interest has been submitted, the Club will review the information provided and successful applicants will then be guided through the next stages of preparing for their Manx Grand Prix debut.

Becoming a Manx Grand Prix competitor is not simply about submitting an entry. For a newcomer, it is the beginning of a journey that includes learning the Mountain Course, meeting the necessary licensing and qualification requirements and ensuring they are properly prepared for the challenge ahead.

For those with the experience, commitment and ambition to take that step, that journey towards the 2027 Manx Grand Prix can start now.

Expressions of Interest close on 12 October 2026.
