TED WOOF RACING BACK WITH COWARD

Leading Classic specialists Ted Woof Racing return to this year’s Manx Grand Prix with long-time team member Jamie Coward.

The race programme gets underway on Friday August 23rd with the 2 Wheeling Classics Classic Junior Race in which Coward will ride a 350cc Craven Honda.

In the Carole Nash Classic Senior race, however, Coward will be on board the Craven Manx Norton he’s ridden superbly over the years, and on which Dean Harrison won twelve months ago, whilst deputising for injured Coward.

Coward himself is no stranger to success having taken no less than six top four finishes for them at the Classic TT between 2013 and 2019. That run of success included four podiums – two seconds and two thirds – as well as recording the first 110mph lap of the Mountain Course by a British rider on a British single cylinder machine in 2017.

A fourth and final lap of 110.057mph that year remains Coward’s fastest lap in the class although Harrison bettered that twelve months ago with an extremely impressive lap of 111.395mph.

A podium, at least, will be Coward’s target whilst he’ll no doubt be looking forward to the re-introduced Classic Junior having won the race at the Classic TT five years ago. He also took second and third in the 2018 and 2017 races so will line up as a firm favourite in the three-lap race.
