Revised Schedule For First Manx Grand Prix Race Day

REVISED SCHEDULE FOR FIRST MANX GRAND PRIX RACE DAY

The Race Organisers of the 2023 Manx Grand Prix have confirmed a revised schedule for Saturday 26th August, after rain disrupted proceedings during Friday’s final qualifying session.

The loss of Friday’s session’s means that the Sure Lightweight Race – originally scheduled for 14:40 on Friday – has now been added to an action-packed schedule for Saturday.

Roads around the TT Mountain Course will close at 11:00, with a Warm Up Lap for Manx Grand Prix competitors scheduled for 11:30, immediately followed by a 1-lap Sidecar TT tyre test as final preparations take place for the opening Manx GP race.

The Carole Nash Classic Senior Race will get underway at 12:45, over a shortened distance of 3-laps. The reduction in race distance has been made as a result of the busy schedule, and follows consultation with teams and riders from the class.

The MGP Supporters’ Club Junior Manx Grand Prix follows at 14:45 over the full, 4-lap race distance. The build-up then begins for the Made at the Manx parade lap, which will see 15 riders represent 100 years of racing and some of the most successful motorcycle racers who began their careers at the Manx Grand Prix.

Finally, at 18:00, the rescheduled Sure Lightweight Race is set to be flagged away over the full 3-lap distance.

After a week of qualifying that’s seen the leaderboards hotly contested, the opening three races and the Made at the Manx parade lap promise to deliver an action-packed start to the Manx Grand Prix bank holiday weekend.
