Greenall Racing Back for 2024
Winners at the 2022 MGP, Greenall Racing, will again contest the RST Classic Superbike Manx Grand Prix next month with their impressive 2023 three-rider line up.
2022 victor Rob Hodson will again be joined by the Irish pairing of Brian McCormack and Derek Sheils in the four-lap race, scheduled to take place on August Bank Holiday Monday, with the three riding a Kawasaki ZX-7RR and two Kawasaki ZXR-750s.
Run by Angus Greenall, the team have been long time supporters of racing on the 37 and ¾-mile Mountain Course with James Hillier giving them second place behind Bruce Anstey in the 2014 Formula 1 Classic TT.
Hillier took fourth the following year before Horst Saiger gave them more podium finishes in 2017 (3rd) and 2018 (2nd). Sheils then repeated the second place position in 2019.
Hodson first rode for the team that first year and repaid the faith shown in him when he took an excellent victory in the 2022 race, defeating team-mate Nathan Harrison by just over 15s. Both riders lapped at more than 125mph with Harrison setting the fastest lap of the race at 126.326mph.
Last year saw Hodson continue with the team and although he couldn’t repeat the victory, a strong third place finish was the outcome, just two seconds behind David Johnson in second place.
McCormack and Sheils finished fourth and eighth respectively twelve months ago so all three will again be amongst the favourites this year with Hodson having the firm aim of taking another win.
The RST Classic Superbike Manx Grand Prix is scheduled to take place on Monday 26th August to mark the end of this year’s event.
